U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen visited the newly built Camas Flats affordable housing development in Oak Harbor, which offers at least 80 income-restricted units for households at 50%, 60%, or 80% of the area median income and has already welcomed some residents. The project aims to help address a statewide shortage of affordable housing, with full occupancy expected by April and another development planned for next year.

Raleigh City Council has approved bond funding to support the redevelopment of the city-owned Duplex Village site – partnering with Blue Ridge – to deliver a 120-unit, long-term affordable housing community near future Bus Rapid Transit, expanding access to stable housing for low- and very low-income residents.

Sound Transit on Monday said it will award to Multi-Service Center and Blue Ridge Cascade the development contract for this 230-unit affordable housing project next to the Federal Way Downtown Station.

Wake County is celebrating the start of construction on Parkside Apartments, a 144-unit affordable housing community that will help working families stay close to jobs, schools, transit and opportunity.

The project is one of the first major efforts funded through Charlotte’s $100 million housing bond, which voters approved last November.

The project by Blue Ridge Atlantic Development could be financed through the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program, which is administered by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency, Schaefer said.

The stage is officially set for a sizable affordable housing project along a corridor near Atlanta’s airport where College Park leadership expects an influx of investment soon.
